Krishna & Christ

‘The Jews answered him, We stone you not for a good work, but for blasphemy; because you, being a man, make yourself God.
Jesus answered them, Is it not written in your law, I said, Ye are gods?’
– John 10:33-34.

The Ten Bulls of Enlightenment

1) You go in search of the bull (soul/self).
2) You search for him everywhere. Finally you have the idea that you understand something about it.
3) Then you seem to catch a glimpse of the bull.
4) Yes, you see and catch the bull.
5) He no longer slips away from you.
6) You are now on top of him.
7) You are now at home and the bull is in the stable.
8) Then you disappear together with the bull.
9) Everything is as it is.
10) You return to the marketplace. You are everything and nothing.

People are searching for themselves.
Then they claim to have realized themselves.
And this realization asks for more. Peace with the searching and finding.
Then there is nothing. No seeker and no self (bull).
Everything is as it is.
Simply existing.

Neti Neti

‘Neti Neti’: You are not this and you are not that.
You cannot say what you are but you can say what you are not.
You are not your thoughts, feelings and the body.

But how far do you go?
Because thoughts, feelings and the body have a function.
Or do you do mortification: sit still all day and hardly eat or drink?
Or do you just let everything go, because you are not it anyway.
In India it is mainly about detachment.
Here in the West we do even more what we feel like.
I have spoken to quite a few Advaitists with some kind of addiction.

With choiceless awareness it is not about whether or not you are your thoughts, feelings and the body.
You are the person, without attaching yourself to it.
You are the observer of the person, without identifying yourself with it.
You are both, without clinging to it.
You are completely divine as human without any conflict. Not-two.
There is a question of choiceless awareness. There is no separate self. There is no I-and-myself.
You embrace the tree without idolizing it.
You are love, consciousness,… without glorifying it.
You are everything and nothing.
You are the world you perceive.
